Costa Rica Recovery uses a Modified Minnesota Model of treatment

We have 30, 60 and 90-day treatment plans available. We highly recommend patients stay as long as they possibly can. Studies conclude that those whose stay is at least 90 days have a much better chance of long-term sobriety and freedom from addiction.

Early assumptions of this model are:

  • Alcoholism exists
  • Alcoholism is an illness
  • Alcoholism is a no-fault illness
  • Alcoholism is a multiphasic illness
  • Alcoholism is chronic, primary illness
  • Initial motivation for treatment is unrelated to outcomes
  • Education about alcoholism must begin in the community.

Model Characteristics

  • Integration of professional staff with trained recovering alcoholics/addicts
  • Focus on disease concept and link 12 step philosophy
  • Abstinence

What’s The Difference Between 30, 60 And 90-Day Programs?

Day program

In the first 30 days of rehab, you will detox and start your journey of recovery by creating a treatment plan and case management plan with your counselor and social worker. Later you will start to familiarize yourself with a routine, classes, physical activity, and therapy sessions. During this time you will start to open up about the changes that you’ll have to make while accepting help from others.

We understand that to make these changes isn’t an easy decision, which is why we recommend our 60 and 90-day programs. The longer you stay the more you’ll become accustomed to developing a clean and sober network.

Day program

With our 60-day program, you will focus on the later stages of your treatment plan which you and your counselors created during the first 30 days. You will learn how to work the program you created in the first 30 days. You will put into action your customized plan and watch how it works in your life.

During this period you will develop the tools of implementation and customization so that you can modify the program to fit your life and your goals.

Day program

Lastly, the 90-day plan will further your understanding of how to practically apply your program so you get the best results. You’ll work closely with your counselors in order to evaluate your progress and success with your plan.

As you prepare yourself for the real world you may make adjustments to your plan using the tools we provide.

What to expect?

We offer clients a genuine opportunity to obtain recovery from addiction and/or alcoholism. We seek to create an environment where our clients can learn about themselves, have fun, laugh and begin the recovery process without worrying about the stresses of life back home. Our residential treatment costs make it easy for our clients to afford.

The first 30-days of treatment:

$4450 USD

Each additional 30-day period (Monthly):

$3950 USD

As you can see we offer extremely reasonable rates. We are a Non-Profit organization whose primary concern is the recovery of the client, and not merely dollars and cents. We charge less than a quarter of the price of a typical treatment center in the United States without compromising the level of care. We can say with assurance that the rewards are huge and the cost is very low for the treatment we offer.

Because of the unpredictable nature of addicts and alcoholics experiencing post-acute withdrawal symptoms, we cannot offer refunds should the client leave early. We will honor the payment for 1 calendar year from the day of the client’s exit date, including days accumulated in our facility.

“Unlike 95% of rehab facilities, our biggest concern is to help our patients get better, and not to just make a profit. Just check out our residential treatment costs.”
